It Begins with You

Today has been a very good day.

I don't remember the last time I have said that. But it has been.

Sometimes it can be very hard to get out of bed in the morning and go to church-- especially when you are the only one in your apartment that goes. If I'm being honest, I didn't want to go. But I went anyways.

I believe that it was because I made the conscious decision to go, that made my day so much better. All the lessons were amazing and I could feel the spirit so strong and it made me happy to know that although I didn't have roommates with me, that I was not alone. I felt the presence of my Heavenly Father with me today, a lot stronger than I have in a long time. It was really nice, knowing that I was making Him proud by the choice I had made.

I made the choice. Because of that I chose to have a good day. This day began with me having a good attitude and it has made all the difference, and it will end and begin again much the same.

FotoFriday: A First for Everything

My 100th post!! Cheers! We have come a long way my friends!

I helped my mom cater the dessert bar at Shaelie's Preference dinner, I am obsessed with Italian Sodas now. So easy, and they taste amazing.
 We play "pretend" doctor everyday.
I LOVE HER SO MUCH!! Sweet dreams Brynni Bug.
I've been so sick, and I was having an awful day and low and behold my cough drop gave me great advice. "Halls Breezers" are life savers in more than one way.
I finally got an extremely needed hair cut. Mainly just my bangs, but they have made all the difference.
FACT: a spoonful of raw honey everyday, helps colds and throats, just saying.
Experimenting with foods... tomatoes, laughing cow cheese, rice crackers with greek seasoning sprinkled on top of the tomatoes.
Ethan tried to kiss Brynlee while we were out at lunch, Brynlee didn't like him trying to pull a move and he leaned over to her and whispered, "I'm a good guy," in her ear.  They are the cutest little things.
The store was having a ten for ten sale...suit me... I love Chobani, my favorite is pineapple if you couldn't tell...
Don't I have a beautiful sister?? I can't believe she is graduating this year! It makes me feel so old, having been there from the start. She is all grown up!

Reader's Corner Thursday: Between Shades of Gray

Hey Guys!

So I haven't written in quite a while because I have been so busy with projects (some for this blog, some for other things, like training) but I have decided that I am going to have some themed posts throughout the week and I thought I would start today with "Reader's Corner" which is where I will tell you all about the books I am currently reading right now. They will always be posted on Thursdays so watchout for them. Okay. Here we go.

Now most of you when you saw either the title of this post or the book cover above, probably thought, Oh no, Alyssa! That is a very bad book, what are you doing reading it?

But my friends, you are confusing two very differnet books. The one you are probably thinking this one is, is 50 Shades of Grey. But, it's not.  And yes, that one is a bad book.

This one is called Between Shades of Gray. Which is about a fifteen-year-old girl who lives in Lithuania during the year 1941. So far it's been a really easy read. But it is a very heavy topic. It's all about Prision Camps and the terrors that families went through during that time period in history.

Synopsis from GoodReads:

"It's 1941 and fifteen-year-old artist Lina Vilkas is on Stalin's extermination list. Deported to a prison camp in Siberia, Lina fights for her life, fearless, risking everything to save her family. It's a long and harrowing journey and it is only their incredible strength, love, and hope that pull Lina and her family through each day. But will love be enough to keep them alive?"

**You guys can join me in reading if you want, like a book club. But I will be doing reccomendations as well and I would love yours in return**

Happy Thursday everyone!

Changing Spaces

Hey Everyone,

A lot of you have asked, and some have no idea, so here is some news for you all.

Yes. I have moved!

I'm living in PROVO!?

Crazy I know, but my parents and I decided that if I was going to be home on my off track from BYUI, I might as well try to live somewhere that would be more social for me than it was last Winter off track.

I live at The Village at South Campus, they are really nice apartments and they have private rooms which is kind of nice (my first time without a room roomie). I can't tell you how nice it is to have my own space, but still have home so close. It's been really nice. I moved in this past weekend and it's been pretty good so far! Here are some pictures for you!!

My room from the hall.

Well that's all folks!
Hope you enjoyed it!
